Well.......
better late then never....
but really, this is how I keep the kids excited..they never know when there will be post about them...not even on their birthday!
So Ashlee..SURPRISE! (you are probably reading this in MAY!)
Ashee bug (yes I purposely left the L out) turned twelve...12....pre-teen....ughh....
on the 6th of this month February, for l you reading this in May!)
I am still in shock...really!
She has always been my sidekick to go anywhere or do anything...even when Katie was trying to steal her for her own! {Side note: Katie has four wonderful boys, but let's ace it....boy's will never want to dress up and put boy's in their hair...hence she wanted Ashlee} and {double side note to Katie: If you can find the magic pill that will make me not feel connected to a baby growing inside my body....I will gladly be your surrogate...I get weepy even thinking about it}
-k-back to Ashee...
She is a bug, and not in a bad way. She was 5 pounds and 6 ounces when she was born on time, only the twins born 6 weeks early were smaller. Dad immediately named you bug, because you just curled right up under our chins and was always content to be right there. Ash ash, also was the first child that was allowed to sleep in the parental bed.....um...girlie...you started a trend there!
Mack like to go get her to cuddle, because she wold tickle scratch your neck and her little fingers would play with the hair at the nape of your neck....
and ash had the sweetest little laugh ever...very girly and a big smile that would light up her whole face with these huge blue eyes and long eye lashes. She has been taking hearts and wrapping them around her little finger since she was that little!
Being the third child, the second daughter has always put her in a special spot....no pressure she says!!
Ashlee Maxie was named after her paternal great grandmother, Alberta Maxine was the very first to hold her after her mom and dad. They had a very special bond (as did all the grandkids and great grandkids...sorry ash....but you are still special!)We have many a picture of grandma Maxine and Ashlee rocking.
Today, Ashlee is definitely the big sister...and a god send to me...her lucky mom. The twins love her, but Sara seemingly has claimed Ashlee as her own. Reaching out to her regardless of who is holding her....I guess I have been relegated to that of the milk machine.
JD loves her because of her gentleness and of her always taking the time to sit with him and read him story after story after story. She makes him clubs and lets gets crafty with him.
Kelle loves her because she has to...just kidding...they share everything, their bed, their clothes, etc, etc....Ashee likes to do Kelle's nails and teaches her about hair and being girly.....all those things her mom is still learning to do!
Carrisa is tolerating ash still (she really loves her, but at 14 you can't admit that!) Cris on more then one occasion dragged her teen baby sister outta the bassinet, because she wanted to hold her, feed her, change her bum....or just be next to her. f there was a time that we couldn't find Cris, we knew where to look...in Ashlee's crib with her!
Chayce is the big brother....he's too cool to love anybody in his family...we'll post more about that later...but secretly we know he loves her...sssshhhhh)
AShlee loves to laugh which is wonderfully good thing, because often she is so quiet, and doesnt complain that we, her parents are having to recut the cake or take ot the ce cream again...but she takes it all in stride.
Ash loves soccer, skiing and sorta likes basketball. She really loves to dance and sing and she is AWESOME at Rockband. She would be awesome at piano..if her dad would let us get one (hint, hint!)
One day her pants may actually stay up...I wish I had her shape and cold eat anything and everything I wanted!!! Eat your oatmeal Ashlee!!!
Ash has become a fabulous babysitter and loves to bake....go figure!
Ashlee is now in Young Women...and I have the privilege of having two daughters to get weepy with! OK I admit it, I am weepy anytime anywhere and at anything...given the right amount of tear jerking music!
We love you Ash, and hope that this year will be the best ever!
