SOOOOOO I know that it has been awhile since I posted..and you would think that with a laptop...and my butt parked on the couch all the time, that it wouldn't be a problem...but the truth is...I stink at typing.....and typing on a laptop is even worse for me....
But the house is quiet....Mack took he kids to the Utah scrimmage game. GO Louks!!!! and I am sure there are four thousand other things I should be doing (finishing the edge on a blanket, starting the blessing dresses, and all the other stuff.....but JD was up most of the night!). So I will sit here in my recliner and post.....
First...the requests about how food storage night is going....well we know we will survive if we had to rely on it all the time. hahaha
Boston baked wheat berry beans - doable.....they need to cook overnight to be better. Mack loved them.......well me and the babies....not so much.
Homemade mac and cheese from food storage - not so much!!! The kids didn't mind it...but I could taste the powdered milk in every gaggy bite.....i wanted rich and creamy....not so much!!!
Rice pilaf - totally yum!!! You wouldn't have known that the veggies were dehydrated. It also made me realize that I need more nuts in my food storage. They will be a life saver.
I also made Louisiana red beans and rice. Everyone loved it...I could eat it every day!!!
The bread is always good...Mack is an expert at the sourdough bread in the dutch oven!!
The cookies have also been a hit. I am so surprised that the cookies made with wheat and honey can be so moist and yummy. They lasted a little bit longer around the house, so they weren't the best, but not that bad. But totally healthy for us with no preservatives.
So we are surviving the food storage test......and we are adding more beans into our everyday meals.

great idea. I would love to try the food storage night, but I think my kids and the hubby will starve. I on the other hand will eat anything. I will try it this monday. I am also going to try making brownies with the black beans.
